Current Priorities

Issue

Officers from the local Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) are currently conducting high-visibility patrols in areas where anti-social behaviour (ASB) has been reported. These locations include the Mendip Road and High Street Areas of Yatton. The purpose of these patrols is not only to deter individuals from engaging in ASB but also to identify those who may benefit from further interventions, including support from partner agencies.

In addition, on 16 June 2025, the North Somerset Neighbourhood Directorate welcomed a significant addition to our policing team. Eight police constables and one sergeant have joined the newly established Neighbourhood Tasking Team. This expansion represents a substantial boost to our NPT capacity. These officers will be undertaking additional high-visibility patrols and addressing the issues that matter most to our communities.

Addressing anti-social behaviour (ASB) is a collective effort that requires the support and involvement of the entire community. We rely on members of the public to report incidents to us so that appropriate action can be taken.

Our Neighbourhood Policing Team works closely with a range of partners—including North Somerset Council, local schools, and youth clubs—to prevent ASB and engage young people through diversionary schemes and early intervention initiatives.

Issue

We have had numerous reports of off road motorcycles being ridden illegally in Yatton. They have been seen on the Strawberry Line and surrounding areas.

We will be dealing with this robustly. Please get in touch if you see anyone using off road bikes on the road or footpaths.  We will ask for descriptions and anything that can help us identify who the riders are.
