Current Priorities

Issue

VAWG is a strategic priority and we are committing to a local action plan which sets out our activity against national frameworks. Our approach is aligned to the three objectives in the NPCC and College of Policing’s ‘Police action to combat violence against women and girls’:

  1. improve trust and confidence in policing
  2. relentlessly pursuing perpetrators
  3. creating safer spaces

Members of your local neighbourhood team have been distributing and promoting the use of tools and apps that are created to keep people safe. This includes:
  • the launch of the Safer streets app and patrolling reported areas
  • promoting Hollie Guard app
  • distributing personal panic alarms

To get involved or ask questions or request some materials, call 101 and request a call back from your local Neighbourhood team.

Action

Members of your neighbourhood team have been continuing to distribute and promote the use of tools and apps, created to keep people safe. This includes:

the launch of the Safer streets app and patrolling reported areas
promoting Hollie Guard app

Issue

Attendance and reassurance will be completed at community events and crime prevention advice and material handed out.

We will work closely with internal and external partners such as Farm Watch and the Rural Affairs Unit and publicise outcomes of incidents using the Force Social Media page.

Burglary is a national problem that that needs to be addressed. Prevention and attendance at burglaries can lead directly to a decrease in crime in the local area.

The impact on the quality of life to residents is significant. Burglary involves someone entering an address as a trespasser which is a clear invasion of someone’s privacy. Your property should be safe.

This is an ongoing issue that the neighbourhood policing team will continuously review.

Action

The neighbourhood team are continuing to review this issue and will publicise outcomes of incidents using the Force Social Media page.
