Current Priorities

Issue

As the better weather will (hopefully) soon be with us, Exmoor Neighbourhood Policing team will be holding various Police Posts and events with crime reduction themes such as Cycle Registering, Trailer marking and scam events.

Look out for further events

Action

As part of our Summer crime reduction, we will be making sure that visibility and accessibility of your local policing team is paramount.

Issue

Unfortunately, there have been 2 opportunists thefts from vehicles parked at Dunkery Beacon this week.

Visits are being made to Campsites, hotels and other locations to remind visitors to Exmoor to remove property when leaving their vehicles unattended when parking on Exmoor.

Action

We are not aware of any further incidents of items being stolen from vehicles parked at beauty sights. Therefore, we are going to discharge this from our priorities.

Issue

If you are concerned about someone who may be drink/drug driving or dealing drugs in your community, you can report your concerns by ringing 101/999 (if urgent) , via Crimestoppers online or by ringing 0800555111.  You can remain anonymous and your information may save a life.

Action

We are really grateful for all the reports of anti-social driving and concerns of drink/drug driving in the area. We are thankful for any licensed premises that make reports of drink driving to us.
We use the reports to conduct patrols in ‘hot-spot’ areas to try and deter this type of crime.

Issue

We will continue to promote farm and horse watch through our monthly visits to Cutcombe Market and by targeted visits to the many Exmoor Farms.

If you would like more information about joining either scheme or would like crime reduction advice, please contact Exmoor Neighbourhood Policing team via 101 or the Avon and Somerset Website.
