Current Priorities

Issue

The police in Minehead continue to investigate drug activity in Minehead, including drug dealing.

Officers are carrying out high-visibility patrols around the town and will conduct stop-searches on those who are suspected to be involved in criminal activity with an aim to hold individuals who are involved accountable for their actions and to disrupt activity.

If you have any information which can assist the police, contact us online or by calling 101. In case of emergencies, always call 999. Alternatively, information can be submitted anonymously via Crimestoppers.

Action

We would like to thank all members of the community who have provided us with information relating to drug offences.
We have been conducting high-visibility patrols in the area and we engage with all our local businesses to try and make Minehead a place that is free from drug activity.

Issue

Minehead Police are aware of anti-social behaviour (ASB), including begging, in some of our residential town areas and public spaces. Focused patrols will be conducted in these areas.

If you are a victim of ASB or witness any behaviour deemed to be anti-social, please report to us. Non-emergencies ASB reports can be made online, or call 999 in an emergency.

Action

Unfortunately we are still getting reports of anti social behaviour in and around the town so are going to leave this as one of our priorities. The team will continue to monitor these hotspots.

Issue

We are reaching out in the community to vulnerable members of the public to offer crime prevention and personal safety advice. To educate people about fraud through our fraud talks and reduce violence against women and girls through continued promotion of Street Safe.

For groups interested in booking a fraud talk, contact us via this form or by telling us in person at one of our events.

We have circulated information regarding crime prevention to the local Talking Cafe or you can visit our enquiry office at the Minehead Police Station, Stephenson Road, Minehead.  The office is open Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 18:00.

For more crime prevention advice, go to our website.

Action

We have got a bike marking event at Minehead Police Station on 19th August. If this date does not work for you and you would like your bike marked, please contact us and we can do it for you.

Issue

We are still receiving reports from concerned residents around the seafront area in Minehead in relation to car enthusiasts racing along the seafront from the main gate at Butlins over to Culver Cliff roundabout. The team in conjunction with the local roads policing unit are proactively patrolling the area and dealing with any offences accordingly. During the coming weeks the team will also be out with the mobile speed gun in and around Minehead. We also encourage anybody who has a problem with speeding vehicles then to get in touch.
