Current Priorities

Issue

One of the most frequent complaints we get from members of the Public, is the speed of vehicles in our towns & villages.

If this affects you, perhaps you would like to consider giving up some time as a Community SpeedWatch Volunteer?

You can dedicate as much or as little time to this as you wish. You could be part of a team monitoring the speed of vehicles in any given area. You will receive all the necessary equipment & training, with support from Police. If you would like to find out more, visit the Avon & Somerset Police Website, & look for 'Community Speedwatch'- or contact one of the Beat team here at Williton Police Station.

Action

The Monksilver CSW scheme is back up and running, there has been 1 confirmed site with another under review.
Roadside training with the volunteers will be completed later next month.

Issue

We are focusing on High-Visibility patrols in the hotspot locations following incidents of anti social behaviour.

Action

We work alongside our anti-social behaviour team to reduce anti-social behaviour in our area.
If you are currently experiencing anti-social behaviour, then please do not hesitate to make a report to us via 999 on 101, alternatively we can now accept online reports which can be made via our website.

Issue

Intelligence led policing to tackle illegal vehicles on the road such as no tax, insurance and licence.

Action

The local neighbourhood officers worked alongside the A&S Roads Policing unit and the Devon and Cornwall Roads Policing teams for high visibility patrols and tackling the Fatal 5 on Exmoor

Issue

Due to a rise in Non-Dwelling Burglaries in Kilve, the neighbourhood policing team along with the response units have been patrolling the rural areas at night for re-assurance and add a highly visible presence to the area.

Action

Due to further burglaries around Roadwater and Exmoor, further re-assurance patrols have been in place, If you have any unsecure high value items in your outbuildings we advise that you take note of the serial numbers and review your security.
