Current Priorities

Issue

Shoplifting at Eastgate Retail Park is becoming more of an occurrence and not only affects the retailers themselves but can also affect other members of the community who are shopping or working when it occurs.

We are increasing our efforts to target the most prolific offenders causing harm to area.

We are working hard with retailers to increase reporting of thefts to get a better understanding of the levels of shop thefts committed.

We are also conducting high visibility patrols in the area and will be holding talk to us events at the location where possible.

Action

We are aware that the build up to Christmas and New Year is a prime time where shops and businesses are targeted for shoplifting.
During the months of November and December the local policing team carried out various engagement and pro active initiatives such as:

16th November 2024: Local NPT held a Talk to Us event where retailers and members of the public were engaged with.
21st November 2024: Neighbourhood officers responded to a 999 call from Boots whereby two individuals had shoplifted. With the help of response colleagues the offenders were apprehended and stock returned. Both individuals were wanted on recall to prison and one was found in possession of illicit drugs.
24th December 2024: A proactive operation was carried out by NPT. A number of stop searches were conducted, high visibility patrols and intelligence gathered.

The local policing team will continue to tackle and prevent these crimes from taking place. If you a see a shoplifting incident in progress please call 999.

Issue

To disrupt and dismantle drug dealing and drug-related Anti-social behaviour in the area of Lockleaze.

Action

If you have any information relating to drugs from the dealing to the supply or suspicious activity, doesn’t matter how insignificant you may think it is, it just may be the missing link. Please report it to us on 101 or through our website or CrimeStoppers.
It does take time to build a picture and helps us to secure that Warrant and disrupt the drugs chain.

Issue

Avon and Somerset Police in collaboration with Bristol City Council are aware of anti-social behaviour affecting residents in the areas of Purdown, Stoke Park and Heath House Lane.

Your cooperation is essential in helping us effectively address these  concerns. Please do not assume that someone else has reported the issue.

Action

In response, agencies have met to share information and develop a strategic action plan to
address Anti-Social Behaviour. An effective and proportionate response from agencies
depends heavily on public reports. Therefore, if you are affected by Anti-Social Behaviour,
we strongly encourage you to report it to the Police by calling 101.
When reporting, please:
? Provide detailed information, including exact times, descriptions of what you have
seen or heard, the number of people involved, and the nature of the Anti-Social
Behaviour.
? Provide any vehicle registration plates if you see offenders arriving or leaving the
area.
? Report incidents as they occur, rather than after the fact.
? Specify the exact location, if known. You can use the what3words app to pinpoint
the precise location of the incident.
? Mention whether you have any evidence, such as photographs, videos, or sound
recordings, that document the anti-social behaviour.

Issue

As the warmer weather and summer months approach the Lockleaze and Eastgate neighbourhood policing team are aware that reports of motorcycles being ridden in a dangerous and illegal manor within the area will increase.

If you have any information relating to the riders or locations of these bikes then please use the ‘Contact the Team’ form at the bottom of our beat page. Alternatively you can report by calling 101.

Action

The police would like to continue receiving reports where individuals are riding motorcycles in an anti-social and illegal manor. If possible descriptions of the riders, motorcycles and any vehicle registrations will help when provided.
Officers will look to target these individuals by issuing section 59 warnings, reporting drivers and seizing motorcycles where necessary.
Local NPT will also be proactively patrolling locations where reports are being made to deter and disrupt this activity.
