Current Priorities
Issue
Over the past few months we have seen an increase in driving offences in the Corn Street, Clare Street and Small Street areas in Bristol City Centre. By engaging with local businesses located in the area, the feedback we received was that mainly delivery drivers operating mopeds were ignoring traffic signs and contravening local traffic orders. Over the next few months you will see us in and around the location completing traffic operations to deter further offences taking place.
Action
Continuous enforcement in the area. There are have been significantly less reports from business and members of the public of road traffic offences being committed.
Issue
Walk And Talk
Avon and Somerset Police are inviting women to meet with female police officers and PCSOs to show them areas in which they feel vulnerable or unsafe in their local communities.
Walk and Talks are open to women aged 18 and above who wish to share their worries or concerns regarding their safety in the local area with officers.
What to expect
- You will be paired with a female police officer or PCSO
- The walks will take place at a mutually convenient time for you
- They will last around 30 minutes
- They will be tailored to the areas you wish to address or discuss
Issue
We’ve had reports of speeding vehicles in these areas. Police Officers and Police Community Support Officers have been patrolling and conducting speed enforcement checks on a regular basis.
If you have any information about these issues or are interested in forming or becoming involved with Community SpeedWatch please make contact with us using the contact form at the bottom of this webpage.
Issue
Your Neighbourhood Policing Team will conduct high visibility foot patrols within areas of Old City Docks in line with the Street Safe service. The areas patrolled will be areas of concerns reported via the Street Safe form online, www.police.uk/streetsafe.
Issue
We welcome feedback from the public and want you to engage with us. We want you to let us know about the issues you have in your area, how we can support your community and what you would like us to do in your area on a regular basis; that could be a ‘Talk to Us’ surgery were you can come along and speak to us about policing issues or to get crime prevention advice and find out who we are and what we do or we can run policing Masterclasses where we can deliver an event to educate communities about Drugs, ASB, Fraud, Child Sexual Exploitation, Modern Day Slavery etc. and provide signposting to support agencies.
We would also like to see an increase in Community SpeedWatch and Neighbourhood Watch schemes where communities take ownership for issues in there area, play a pivotal role in helping to tackle issues and get regular support from the police.
If you have any information about criminality or issues in your area, are interested in forming or becoming involved with Neighbourhood Watch or SpeedWatch or just want to speak to us, please make contact with us using the contact form at the bottom of this webpage.
