Current Priorities
Issue
Over this summer a large group of youths have caused ASB in and around Yate shopping Centre mostly around Tesco store.
This includes large gatherings of groups, using intimidating and abusive behaviour.
Action
Continued high visibility patrols and joint approach actions. As a result of the work carried out by the neighbourhood team, 2 persons are on court bail and are awaiting court hearings.
Issue
Patrols and action taken around shop thefts in the Yate area. Targeted patrols to support local shop workers and security, and taking action against offenders.
Action
Work is continuing to manage on-going reports of shoplifting in the area. A male has recently been arrested and is due in court in July for sentencing.
Issue
If you suspect that persons are using, dealing or growing drugs, we encourage this to be reported to us. This can be reported either in person, by visiting your local police station, ringing 101 or reporting online via the Avon and Somerset Police Website.
Action
A male has recently been arrested, remanded and convicted for drugs supply in the Yate area. We continue to encourage further reports of drug dealing and use in the Yate area.
Issue
Warnings and seizures of e-scooters on public land, due to them being used in an anti-social manner.
