Current Priorities

Issue

PRIORITY AREA 1 - encompassing Barton-le-Clay, Streatley, and Sundon, has identified significant concerns regarding local car meets along the A6 between Higham Road and Church Road. These gatherings have led to increased instances of vehicle anti-social behavior (ASB), causing disruptions and safety issues for residents and road users. As a result, addressing these concerns has been designated as the primary focus for this area during the current period.

Issue

PRIORITY AREA 2 - which includes Toddington, Chalgrave, and Chalton, has seen a notable rise in reports and concerns of anti-social behaviour, particularly around The Glebe in Toddington. This increase in incidents has prompted this to be designated as the primary focus for the area during the current period.

PRIORITY AREA 3 - which includes Tilsworth, Stanbridge, and Eggington, has experienced a rise in reports of anti-social behavior (ASB) and criminal damage along the stretch of Dunstable Road from Watling Street (A5) to the junction of Dickens Lane. These incidents have been concentrated in select locations, prompting it to be designated as the primary focus for the area during the current period.

PRIORITY AREA 4 - BILLINGTON AND HEATH AND REACH.

Billington and Heath and Reach, have identified significant issues with speeding, particularly on Woburn Road and Leighton Road in Heath and Reach. These concerns have been supported by data from speed information displays, highlighting the need for immediate action. As a result, addressing speeding in these areas has been set as the primary focus for this period

Issue

Area 4 - LEIGHTON BUZZARD - Recent discussions have revealed a discrepancy between the concerns raised by the community and the actual levels of crime reporting. This misalignment suggests that many incidents may be going unreported, which can hinder effective enforcement and community safety efforts. Therefore, the primary priority for this area is to enhance the reporting of crimes and intelligence, particularly in the Town Centre.

Issue

Area 5 - Hockliffe, Eaton Bray and Totternhoe
There has been a notable rise in thefts involving commercial vehicles, particularly in Eaton Bray. This increase in criminal activity has prompted the designation of this and the the prevention and reduction of these thefts as the top priority for the current period for this area.
