Community Identified Priority for TOWN CENTRE

JULY 25 - SEPT 25

The following have been identified as the community priority for this quarter:
ROBBERY, RETAIL THEFT, DRUG DEALING, ASB , AGGRESSIVE BEGGING, STREET DRINKING
These have been identified from the Bedfordshire Talking Survey and crime data.

These priorities will be targeted by the Local Community Policing Team through specific enforcement operations such as Operation FORESIGHT / ROVIK.

31/08/2025 - Day of Action
Today PCSO's along with partners from Trading Standards and Cadets Conducted TEST PURCHASING OPERATION from stores around the Town Centre.
The test purchasing was highly successful, 15 stores were tested for ALCOHOL, VAPES and COGARETTES.
Two of the shops Failed.
One Store sold a VAPE to under 18's and had roughly £7k worth of TOBACCO SEIZED.
Another store sold X2 VAPES to Under 18's.
Both shops are going to be taken to Court by Trading Standards.
