• Anti-social behaviour – including e-scooter use and street drinking
• High-visibility policing – including increasing visibility and engagement during the nighttime economy

Action

• Retail crime across the city centre –
Focusing on prevention of offences impacting the business community, as well as enforcement against offenders
Officers have been engaging with businesses to increase confidence around reporting. They have also worked with the Business Improvement District’s (BID) crime and security officer to provide prevention advice. A number of subjects have been arrested after staff have flagged down officers who are on general city centre patrols.

• Anti-social behaviour – including e-scooter use and street drinking -
Several operations have been carried out to engage with e-scooter users. This has led to the seizure of more than 30 e-scooters and the issuing of a number of traffic tickets. We have also issued 13 tickets for breach of the Public Space Protection Order, many of which relate to alcohol issues. We are in the process of summonsing an individual to court for breaching his CBO (which was initially obtained due to his behaviour when drunk).

• High-visibility policing – including increasing visibility and engagement during the nighttime economy -
The team have completed more than 800 hours of dedicated patrols. Around 25 cycles were marked at a specific event in Cathedral Square and we have carried out engagement events across the city centre. Joint work with both internal and external licencing teams is taking place to support establishments around the seizure of drugs and the use of licensed premises exclusion orders to target the more persistent offenders within the locations.
