Using a combination of your feedback and our own data, we have set the below priorities for your local neighbourhood policing team across the south of Peterborough.

For April to June 2025 these were:

• Car cruising and vehicle-related anti-social behaviour across the sector
• Retail theft and associated anti-social behaviour at Orton Centre
• Vehicle nuisance and anti-social behaviour across the Ortons and Hamptons

• Car cruising and vehicle-related anti-social behaviour across the sector

The south neighbourhood policing team have been out targeting the area of Fair Meadow carpark. We have issued a number of section 59 warnings to drivers about their behaviour.

We have been working closely with the local authority and private shareholders to bring in a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) for the area which will give police and partner agencies additional powers to deal with organised car cruises and anti-social driving.

• Retail theft and associated anti-social behaviour at Orton Centre

Your team has been working closely with business owners and private landlords to focus on the most prolific and demanding shoplifters. We arrested several key individuals who received prison sentences.

Anti-social behaviour offenders have been identified and spoken to with Community Protection Warnings issued. This has seen a reduction in calls for service. We know this is a really big issue for residents around the hotspot areas so we will be carrying over this priority into next quarter.

• Vehicle nuisance and anti-social behaviour across the Ortons and Hamptons

Some really good progress has been made with this priority. Due to the large spike in demand and calls for service between the South and City Centre neighbourhood policing teams we created Operation Mobilise to best achieve our goals in a more joined up and co-ordinated approach to the problem.

This has resulted in a number of arrests, vehicle seizures and section 59 warnings being issued to the most problematic offenders. Multiple people are going through the court system and on bail for theft and driving offences.

As this is a large piece of work for us, we have taken it forward to the next quarter.

Using the same metrics, the priorities for July to September 2025 are:

• Car cruising and vehicle-related anti-social behaviour across the sector
• Drug dealing and associated anti-social behaviour in Grove Street, Woodston
• Vehicle nuisance and anti-social behaviour across the Ortons and Hamptons
