- Through our Resident’s Voice, speeding is again one of the top priorities that we are asked to tackle, with Knutsford town centre and the surrounding estates being the two primary areas of note. Speeding is taken seriously and we here at Knutsford will take any and all opportunities to ensure the safety of road users and pedestrians alike. This quarter a total of 549 vehicles were caught speeding through the use of our Trucam device and our static Camera Van, with each driver either receiving a Speed Awareness Course, points on their license, or a postal requisition to attend court. Think about your speed and drive carefully!
- Understandably, with the increase in population, vehicles, travelling crime, and volume crime, we are often required to be in vehicles in order to attend as many reports as quickly as we can. This in turn results in less time being visible in person on the beat and therefore one of the primary concerns we have had shared through Resident’s Voice this month is about visibility, as well as the police station not being open to the public.
However, we are pleased to announce a new summer initiative: Cops on the Square. On 26th July you can find two officers in a static location in Knutsford Town Centre and a further two officers ‘walking the beat’ - the exact location and times will be disclosed soon, so please follow our social media pages to keep up-to-date with this.
