Residents and parents complained about congestion around Woodlands Primary School during drop off and pick up times.

Woodland Primary School has implemented the ‘School Streets Parking Scheme. This is a traffic management initiative designed to enhance safety and wellbeing for pupils and the wider community.
Under the scheme, roads surrounding the school are temporarily closed to motorised traffic during peak drop-off and pick-up times. This creates a pedestrian and cycle-friendly zone, reduces congestion and air pollution, encourages active travel, and creates a safer, calmer environment for children and families during the busy school run. Although Civil Parking Enforcement Officers play a key role in upholding these restrictions, ensuring compliance and providing a visible presence to deter unauthorised vehicle access the local PCSO has also attended to assist with speaking to drivers and offering advice to those who were unaware of the scheme.
