•02/10/2024 –Conducted static speed checks. All traffic travelling at the correct speed limit
•19/10/2024 – Meadow Road, vehicle causing an obstruction to a garden gate, traffic offence report issued for unnecessary obstruction.
•07/11/2024 - Conducted speed checks with gun as speed drops from 60mph to 30 mph. One driver to be sent warning letter as was clocked doing 35MPH in 30MPH zone.
•29/12/2024 - Conducted speed checks with gun as speed drops from 60mph to 30mph. 2 drivers dealt with for driving offences
•10/01/2025 - traffic office report (ticket) issued for obstruction following being parked on yellow zig-zag lines on Main Street, St Bees during prohibited times.
• 17/01/2025 - Conducted speed checks with gun as speed drops from 60mph to 30mph. No Vehicles speeding
• 06.02.2025 - High visibility patrol no vehicles seen causing any issues
18.02.2025 - High visibility patrol no vehicles seen causing any issues
- 28/03/2025 - area monitored and no vehicles causing an obstruction.
06.06.2025 -Conducted speed checks, two vehicles driving over the speed limit dealt with accordingly
- Arranging a multi agency patrol of the area around High Road Kells, following further reports of illegal parking.
19/07/2025 – Following a report received, Officers attended and witnessed six vehicles in the area, three quickly made off, three others were located parked in a line at the top end of the car park, All three drivers provided their details and were spoken to re Anti-social use of their vehicles, all were then given warnings under section 59 and informed that driving without consideration for other road users which causes any alarm distress or annoyance is an offence under the police reform act 2002 and if they are caused doing this again there vehicle can be seized.
29/07/2025 – Officers conducted speed checks on the B5345 St Bees Road, No offences were found at this time
09/08/2025 – Officers attended the Car park area at St Bees and carried out high visibility patrols, all in order.

Reports received about the use of off road/Scrambler type bikes in the areas of Mirehouse and Woodhouse

Action

WE DID
• Enquires conducted to trace any witnesses and CCTV to assist with identifying offenders.
• Police drop-in sessions arranged to encourage local residents to engage with us with the aim of identifying any offenders.
• Day of action will be conducted to target persistent offenders and deal with them appropriately.
• Working with partner agencies and housing providers to provide a Multi agency approach
• Targeted High Visibility patrols in the areas highlighted.
- 06.06.2025 off road bike witnessed by police, enquiries ongoing to identify the rider.
- 5 hours targeted patrol in area identified as hotspot where bikes are often seen riding
- PC 2857 witnessed a motor bike in the area of Mirehouse, checks revealed that this vehicle was not insured, taxed or MOT'd, this vehicle was then located in a garden nearby and due to an uncooperative response to enquires this vehicle was seized by PC 2857.
14/07/2025 – 20/07/2025 – High Visibility patrols carried out, no vehicles were found
21/07/2025 – 30/07/2025 – High Visibility patrols carried out, no vehicles were found
04/08/2025 – 09/08/2025 – High Visibility patrols carried out, no vehicles were found.

Issue

Youth antisocial behaviour at Meadow Road, Whitehaven

Action

09/06/2025 Report received of Youth ASB on Meadow Road in the area of the residential bungalows located on Meadow Road/Whinlatter Road, There is an archway located in the cul-de-sac and this is attracting local youths to the area. Youths are congregating everyday banging, making loud noises, leaving litter and are believed to have caused damage to the lock of a gate and a light.
This happens nearly every night between 17:00-22:00hrs and gets worse at weekends and school holidays - form lunchtime onwards
09/06/2025 – Officers attended the area, no youths were located at this time
10/06/2025 – Report received, officers attended and located a small group of youths in the the archway, the youths located were not known for any bad behaviour, all were very polite when spoken to, none of the youths were aware that they were not allowed to hang around in the archway, they all apologised and were given strong words of advice to stay away from the area and not to hang around the bungalows, all of the group said they would relay the message to their mates.
House to house and CCTV enquires were carried out

17/07/2025 – Officers attended a located a single youth who was simply passing through the area
24/07/2025 - Officers attended after receiving a report, no youths were located
26/07/2025 – High Visibility patrols carried out from 15:00 to 16:45, all in order, no youths located in the area
28/07/2025 – High Visibility patrols carried out at 19:00, no youths located in the area
29/07/2025 – Officers attended following a report of youths in the area, no youths were located.
