Road Safety concerns

During December DC Herron has been tackling road safety concerns. Officers have been within the area’s carrying out stop checks of vehicles and being visible.
This has included being visible around Margate Street during school drop off. This is linked to St Columbus school which have issues raised about parking within the area.

Speed checks have been carried out also in various parts of Walney.

PC Herron has conducted frequent visits to schools over the area since the start of term there has been complaints regarding parking outside of schools during school drop off and pick up times- tickets have been issued to two vehicles contravening the yellow zig zags. Further such patrols will continue to take place.
The police speed camera van has continued visits to the locality and in addition PC Herron & Sgt Holmes have been in attendance this February, speed compliance was checked by officers on the Promenade and Ocean Road and no persons exceeding the limit were identified.
