Road safety concerns in Kirkby Stephen Town Centre - Speeding Vehicles.

- Officers have conducted static checks with speed devices, taking enforcement action and offering advice.

- Operation conducted for overweight vehicle use on the A685 resulting in Traffic Offence Reports being issued and a vehicle uplifted for no insurance.

- Joint review of location carried out with Highways colleagues. Previous data obtained by highways determined the average speed at 30.9MPH, which is within tolerated limits as defined by the National Police Chiefs Council. Location will remain subject to routine monitoring and enforcement by officers.

- Op colossus is being launched to focus on ASB driving and road safety. Results to follow.

Concerns regarding drug dealing and activity in Kirkby Stephen.

- Patrols have patrolled hot spot areas.

- Engagement with Licensed Premises at Pub Watch meetings to develop intel and hear about drugs use concerns.

- Proactive operation conducted resulting in 1 x person arrested for drugs supply offences and possession of an offensive weapon, released under investigation.
