It belongs to the Derbyshire Dales Local Policing Unit. The historical market town of Ashbourne is situated at the gateway to Dovedale and the Peak District. It is famous throughout the world for its annual Shrovetide football match when the 'upards' play the 'downards'. It is played in the streets, fields and waterways, with each goal three miles apart. Thousands of people attend the event which is held over Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday.

Speeding Speed Enforcement and Education by Trained Safer Neighbourhood Officers. Enforcement by Casualty Reduction Enforcement Support Police Team Enforcement and Education by Police Roads Policing Teams. Support from Community Speed Watch Group Drug Use / ASB High Visibility patrols and engagements across the areas. A mixture of high visibility and plain clothes patrols in hot key locations. Work with the community and partner agencies to gather intelligence through engagements and crime stoppers. Regularly review and publicise crime trend information and intelligence to identify hot spot locations. Identify suspects and target with specialist police teams
