This Safer Neighbourhood area covers the villages of Pleasley, Glapwell and New Houghton. It belongs to the North East Local Policing Unit.

The area has a mining history, which ended in the 1980s, and is situated in between Chesterfield and Mansfield with close proximity to the M1 motorway.

Current Priorities

Issue

1. ASB in and around New Houghton.
2. Nuisance off-road bikes around the area of Pleasley Vale and into Pleasley.

Action

1. High visibility patrols in the area in order to deter further issues, Intelligence developing by working with partners such as Bolsover District Council in order to identify offenders and issue ASB warning letters or ABCs . Problem management plan in place to tackle the issue.
2. High visibility Patrols and working with other agencies including Notts Police to tackle off-road bikes and look to issue S59 warnings/Vehicle PSPO tickets and/or seizure of the bikes.
