Action
We are continuing to be experiencing issues with anti-social behaviour in the town centre area. We have increased our patrols of these areas. To-date, several youths have attended Glossop Police Station and along with their parents/carers have signed an ABC (Acceptable Behaviour Contract) which gives the young person conditions regarding their behaviour in the local community and the repercussions of their actions. We will continue to target the areas, engage with the youths and take the relevant action. We have also introduced a dispersal order during several town centre events which allows officers to remove potential offenders from the area. Our local community is still having issues with shop-theft, however we are carrying out more foot patrols in the local area and working with shop staff to identify offenders. We will be working with retailers offering advice and targeting criminality to make our streets safer . Concerns have been raised about the parking in and around all our local schools. The local team have been into several of the town centre schools and carried out some education on road safety with the young people and then conducted patrols in a bid to educate drivers regarding their standard of driving and poor parking. We encourage anyone who is wanting to report illegal parking to the councils Civil Parking Enforcement Team who are responsible for most parking offences like double yellow lines. You can do this by calling Call Derbyshire on 01629533190.
