This Safer Neighbourhood area includes Whittington and Barrow Hill. It is covered by the Chesterfield North Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team and belongs to the Chesterfield Local Policing Unit.

Barrow Hill is a small semi-rural residential area located within Chesterfield Borough Council and situated approximately four miles from Chesterfield Town Centre. Whittington is split into two villages - Old and New. There is a large recreational area separating both Old and New Whittington that includes a skate park and five-aside football pitch. Old Whittington contains several buildings of historical interest.

1.Nuisance Motorbikes/Surron Bikes
2.New Whittington Youth ASB issues predominantly in the Gypsy Lane area.
3.Sheepbridge Industrial Estate commercial Burglaries.

Action

1.We have had continued calls relating to nuisance Motorcycles in North Chesterfield area. To combat this we will patrol areas that are mostly impacted and utilise our colleagues in the Rural Crime Team and Off Road Motorcycle team to target those responsible and enforce robustly. 2.The Safer Neighbourhood Team will patrol this area at peak times during to engage with and deter perpetrators. We will work alongside Enforcement Officers from Chesterfield Borough Council and Local Schools to identify suspects and take positive action whenever possible. 3.SNT have visited multiple premises on the Industrial estate to pass crime prevention advice. Regular patrols are taking place in this area during key times with a view to carrying out enforcement against perpetrators of this crime.
