Alvaston is a residential estate located within the Derby City Council area. It is an estate comprising of primary schools, mini shops and public houses. Alvaston is situated approximately three-to-four miles from Derby city centre. This area also covers the Pride Park business estate, including Derby County Football Club.

Action

1 Anti-Social Behaviour – The Team will carry out Hi visible patrols in the following locations such as Allenton Shops, Alvaston Shops, Alvaston park, McDonalds at Raynesway. Engage with young people and arrange mobile youth provision with supporting communities alongside our Youth engagement officers. Deliver Educational inputs into Schools. Sign post young people to diversionary activities. raise awareness on how such behaviour impacts the Community.
2. Drug dealing - The Team will conduct Hi visible and plain clothes patrols in the area. Stop and search those suspected of drug dealing. Gather and develop intelligence, act on information provided by the local community. Execute warrants for positive outcomes.
3. Nuisance off Road bikes - E scooters - Reports of Nuisance off road bikes on the area have increased. Hi visible Patrols are taking place in hotspot locations such as Field Lane park and the canal path. Off Road bike team have been utilised on several occasions to assist in combating this issue. We will tackle this issue by Working with the community and partner agencies to identify offenders. Positive action will be taken under the sec 59 powers (Police reform act) and the powers issued to us under S165 road traffic act for riding with no insurance.
4. Vulnerability - Cuckooing - We have continued to work closely with the local authority and our partners from the local housing associations. this allows us to share information and identify those at risk of they're properties being taken over by drug dealers. We work together with our partners to ensure we visit our most vulnerable victims regularly, sometimes daily, offering reassurance and support. We have also taken robust action against the offenders, making arrests at the first opportunity and enforcing strict bail conditions, offering an extra layer of support to the victims in these circumstances. If you suspect any properties in the local are being taken over by suspicious looking people, its important that you make us aware.
