Current Priorities
Issue
1 Anti-social behaviour
2 Drug dealing
3 Nuisance Vehicles
4 Vulnerability - Cuckooing
Action
1. Anti-Social Behaviour
The team will carry out high-visibility patrols in locations such as Fullen Lock Park and Queensferry Gardens.
We will engage with young people and arrange mobile youth provision, supporting communities alongside our Youth Engagement Officers.
Educational inputs will be delivered in schools, and young people will be signposted to diversionary activities.
We will raise awareness of how such behaviour impacts the community.
The team will also promote Derbyshire Talk surveys and keep residents up to date via social media.
2. Drug Dealing
The team will conduct high-visibility and plain-clothes patrols in the area.
We will stop and search those suspected of drug dealing, gather and develop intelligence, and act on information provided by the local community.
Drug warrants will be executed to achieve positive outcomes.
3. Nuisance Vehicles
Reports of nuisance vehicles have been received on Snelsmore Lane and Infinity Parkway, where boy racers are disrupting residents’ quality of life.
Roads Policing has been made aware and is conducting regular patrols at these locations.
High-visibility patrols are also being carried out by the Safer Neighbourhood Team at hotspot locations.
Roads Policing is assisting the SNT in combating this issue.
We will tackle this issue by working with the community and partner agencies to identify offenders.
Drivers identified will be issued Section 59 warnings or have their vehicles seized under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act.
4. Vulnerability – Cuckooing
We continue to work closely with the local authority and our partners from local housing associations.
This collaboration allows us to share information and identify those at risk of having their properties taken over by drug dealers.
Together, we ensure our most vulnerable victims are visited regularly—sometimes daily—offering reassurance and support.
We have also taken robust action against offenders, making arrests at the first opportunity and enforcing strict bail conditions, providing an extra layer of support to victims in these circumstances.
