Rural crime
School engagement
Theft of motor vehicles
Off-road bikes

Issue

We have recognised Trimdon to be one of our hotspots for ASB, particularly on weekends. Some of the more specific issues is arsons in wooded areas and damage to the park and village hall.

Action

We aim to conduct patrols in these hotspot areas at the relevant times, as well as getting to know the local youths so we can more easily identify any suspects later down the line. Children identified as acting antisocially will be referred to the ASB team and be spoken to with their parents or guardians.
Previously, when youths have been involved in setting fires, they have been involved in community payback, including litter picks and tree planting, to give back to the community.

Issue

Rurali is Durham's response to rural crime. PCSO Sophie is your rural SPOC, responsible for sharing intelligence with other police forces to tackle cross-boarder criminals , keeping our farmers connected and preventing rural crime.

Action

If you are a local farmer, wanting to get involved with our farmwatch , please contact Sophie to find out more.

Issue

As a beat team, we feel it is crucial that children feel comfortable to approach us, so that they know we are there to help, not just chase the bad guys! Thats why we aim to deliver talks in schools as often as we can, to break down barriers and show children that we will be there to help them if they ever need us.

Action

Last week, Inspector Jassat met with Bluebell Meadow's Pupil Parliament , to find out what the students think we should do to make them feel safe. The beat team then attended their careers day, where the children had the opportunity to ask lots of questions, climb in the cage and turn on the sirens!

Issue

Trimdon Village Hall plays a big part in serving our community in a variety of ways. It's volunteers work tirelessly to make sure young people have something to do such as youth club. Unfortunately, it is one of our hotspots for youth related ASB, and has been a target of criminal damage on several occasions.

Action

At our recent PACT meeting, it was raised that a group of youths had caused damage to the hall using slingshots. PCSOs have spoken to the children involved and warned them of the dangers of their actions, the implications this has for the hall and the local community. These children were dealt with as part of the investigation and the slingshots in question were seized to prevent any further incidents.
