Anti-Social Behaviour (Vehicles and Bikes) – Murton, Dalton-Le-Dale & Hawthorn

Regular high visibility patrols are conducted in these areas. These areas are protected by Section 59 of the Police Reform Act which allows officers to seize any vehicle being used in a manner causing alarm, distress or annoyance. There are on-going joint operations with our Motorcycle Section to tackle this issue.
There have been numerous seizures of cars, motorbikes, off-road bikes, electric bikes and quad bikes which we are continuing our efforts to problem solve this issue. There are other on-going enquires to identify any further offending vehicles are being housed with the assistance of the local community.

Anti-Social Behaviour at Dalton Park

We conduct regular high visibility patrols in this area with local businesses visited and liaised with providing support. Anyone acting in an anti-social manner are now on the ASB escalation ladder which results in action with our partner agency, Durham County Council ASB Team. We will continue to assist Dalton Park in issuing banning orders to those involved to resolve these issues to assist us with reducing ASB in this area.

Woods Terrace, Murton

Woods Terrace, Murton was raised as an issue by the local community due to anti-social behaviour and crime relating to criminal damage, assaults and drug misuse. These types of incidents were linked to numerous addresses on Woods Terrace. Since the issue was raised numerous people have been arrested and sent through the criminal justice system as well numerous tenants have been evicted from the problem addresses. This has shown a reduction in incidents in this area with Seaham Neighbourhood Officers actively patrolling whilst utilising police tactics with stop & searches being conducted in this area with positive results.
