Current Priorities
Issue
While violent crime remains low in the district, we understand when local people say that any incident involving violence causes concern.
Action
Where incidents of violent crime are reported, our officers will continue to maintain a visible presence in those areas. We remain committed to working closely with Maldon District Council to address community concerns and respond proactively to emerging trends.
Issue
Anti-social behaviour remains a key concern in our neighbourhoods.
Action
Working alongside our local partners - including the Tri-Service Officer and Maldon District Council - we will continue to respond to reports of anti-social behaviour. This includes patrolling areas where such behaviour has been reported, in order to deter further incidents, engage with those responsible, and take appropriate action when necessary
Issue
Local residents have told us that speeding and anti-social driving remain key concerns in the community. This is entirely understandable, especially given the disproportionately high number of serious and fatal collisions that have occurred in the district.
Action
In response, we have deployed speed checks in areas where residents have raised concerns. While these checks do identify speeding drivers, they also serve as a visible reminder, encouraging all road users to reflect on and adjust their behaviour- ultimately helping to make our roads safer for everyone.
Upcoming Events
Let’s talk
Officers from your Neighbourhood policing team will be on hand to talk about local policing. We’ll listen to you and do our best to answer questions you have about policing where you live. We can also let you know what we’re doing to keep people safe and catch those intent on causing harm to our communities. We’ll be able to offer advice and tips on staying safe, and if your concern isn’t a police matter, we’ll let you know who will be able to help.
We hope to see you there.
If you would like more information about the event, please get in touch by using the ‘contact us’ tab.
Please note that the event may be cancelled at short notice due to operational demands. If this happens, we will let you know as soon as we can by posting on the district’s local police Facebook and Twitter pages.
