Bargate Neighbourhood Team covers Southampton city centre and the surrounding areas, including The Polygon, Holyrood, St Mary’s and Ocean Village.
The city centre is home to West Quay shopping centre and sees a huge influx of people who travel to Southampton for business or leisure, this only increases when the university students are in residence and on the arrival of the numerous cruise ships.
The Polygon is a residential area popular with student lets and B&B’s with the nearby night time economy area of Bedford Place and the surrounding streets.
Holyrood, famously where singer Craig David grew up, is a thriving local community well situated on the edge of the city centre, soon to benefit from the redevelopment of the old Bargate shopping centre, which is being transformed into a brand new residential and business district.
St Mary’s is a highly multi-cultural area consisting of both residential and business properties. The area gives its name to Southampton’s football stadium.
Ocean Village set on the marina consists of luxury property’s, high end hotels and bars and has been home to round the world yacht races such as the Ocean Globe Race.
