Operation IRE related to a series of high value burglaries involving theft of safes in the East Riding towards the latter end of last year.

Hotspot patrolling was carried out in both uniform and plain clothes capacity. Since this series of burglaries there have been no further which match the modus operandi. This appears to have been a targeted and organized string of burglaries. Patrolling in the area will continue. Reassurance visits have been carried out throughout affected areas along with crime safeguarding advice and advice on installing security cameras/alarms.

Reports have been made to us regarding speeding in the local area, namely Springfield Way and Lowfield Road. Humberside has recorded a high number of fatal road traffic collisions with 7 fatalities within the first 10 days of January.

We have carried out speed enforcement with the Pro Laser in areas identified to us as repeat areas for speeding. This has included areas around schools in conjunction with the Safer Streets scheme. In all locations that this has been carried out we have not measured any vehicles exceeding the speed limit. Speed has continued to be highlighted as an issue throughout ward area so will continue to be a priority for the next beat plan.

We have continued to engage with retail premises throughout this period. This has involved high visibility patrolling and engagement, alongside surgeries being held inside retail premises.

Between 1st February 2025-28th March 2025 there have been 28 reported shop thefts throughout Willerby/Kirk Ella and Tranby. This will continue to be a priority area moving forward due to the increase in shop theft incidents.
We will continue to hold surgeries and will conduct more foot patrol in retail areas.
