Lifestyle 2025 is ready to be launched in your area.

Action

All Neighbourhood Policing Teams have received their Lifestyle packs with promotional materials and their PowerPoint (and video) to be delivered in schools and youth centres.

Lifestyle is our longest-running youth engagement event, inspiring young people since 1989 to make a positive impact in their communities through innovative, fun-filled, and inspiring projects during their summer holidays. Each year, we witness incredible dedication from young individuals who strive to improve their neighbourhoods, showcasing exceptional organization and teamwork to achieve their Lifestyle goals.

Lifestyle is open to 10-16 year olds, either in small teams of 2-5 members or as larger youth teams representing youth clubs. This programme offers Humberside’s young people the chance to fill their summer with enjoyable activities that benefit their communities. You can find out more about Lifestyle on our new dedicated website: Humberside Police Lifestyle – Making a Difference, where registration will open soon.

Improving Road Safety

Action

Improving safety of our roads across Mid Holderness
You’ve no idea what’s around the corner so slow down and give yourself time to react.

Be ready to meet cyclists and slow-moving vehicles when you least expect them on rural roads.

If you’re out for a country drive, look out for other road users. Don’t forget to “LOOK, LOOK & LOOK AGAIN” for those on two wheels. Remember to share the road and we ask drivers to look out for Walkers, Cyclists and Horse Riders – Give them plenty of room

This year’s Bike Week aims to encourage as many people as possible to get out and enjoy their community by bike.

We are taking part in the national 2wheel campaign, launching today (Monday, 2 June), reinforcing the message behind our One Second campaign, highlighting the devastating impact of reckless and distracted driving.

Over the past year, 32 lives have been lost on our roads, with many more suffering life-changing injuries and in the last month alone, two motorists have lost their lives riding high powered motorcyclists. Our officers have been tackling dangerous driving behaviour, providing education, and enforcing road safety laws to protect all road users, whether behind the wheel or on two wheels.

The 2wheel campaign is dedicated to improving the safety of motorcyclists and cyclists through visible policing, enforcement of road traffic regulations, and community engagement.

Our One Second campaign raises awareness of the irreversible consequences of distracted, reckless, or impaired driving through real-life testimonies from families affected by fatal collisions.
We are also supporting Operation Yokohama and Operation Achilles, which focus on motorcycle safety, collision reduction, and addressing anti-social riding through targeted initiatives and engagement. Through high-visibility policing, education, and targeted enforcement, we are working across our force area to encourage better decision-making on the roads, reminding all drivers and riders that one second of distraction, one reckless choice, can take a life.

Members of the public are encouraged to report dangerous driving to 101 or 999 in emergencies. You can also submit video evidence via Op Snap, helping to hold reckless drivers and riders accountable for their actions.
