Current Priorities

Issue

Reduce Anti Social Behaviour (ASB): Improve the quality of life for residents

This priority is continuing due to continued calls to children knocking and kicking on doors at the North End of Withernsea

Action

On going initiatives for Anti Social Behaviour (ASB):

Acceptable Behaviour Contacts (ABCs): We currently have four youths on ABC’s – this follows on from Fairway letters and visits to the addresses of those involved in ASB, where the behaviour continues.

This is a voluntary contract between the family, Police, and council. Each one is individual to the named youth.

Community Protection Order – there are 2 young adults (over 16, under 18) who continued with ASB within the tow which has resulted in them been placed on a CPO. Each one has several individual conditions in place, which can result in a court visit if breached.

We are still working with the Arcades within Withernsea to reduce anti social behaviour in the area, anyone found to be causing issues will be banned from the area by the Arcades, with support from the team.

We also work closely with the ASB officer from East Riding Council, together in the last month several Fairway letters have been sent to parents / guardians to informing them of ASB involving their child, where, when, what happened and who they were with.

These are often alongside visits to home address or invites to discuss issues at the police station.

Fairways can also be used for adults.

Issue

Reduce Rural Crime

Action

Operation GALILEO has restarted for the season.

Throughout this year we have worked with volunteers on the Rural Watches across Holderness to deter rural criminality. In addition, we will utilise all the available technology, crime prevention techniques and assistance from the Rural Crime Team to deter and detect crime.

Issue

Reduce level of burglaries in the area

Action

There has been an increase in burglaries in the area and so we shall increase our patrols and provide as much high visibility as possible.

Please report any suspicious activity. Crime reduction advice is available, please make contact with your local neighbourhood team if required.
