Current Priorities
Issue
Burglary: There has been an increase in acquisitive crime around the Waltham area, this includes burglaries and attempted burglaries on residential properties.
Action
We are aware, having spoken to residents, that they are not only concerned about their properties but also feel uneasy about the rise of crime in the area.
We are working closely with our partner agencies such as North East Lincolnshire Council and VANEL, to deal with this crime,
We do however ask for residents to remain vigilant in making sure their properties, including outbuildings such as sheds and garages, and vehicles are all locked and secured.
Remember don’t leave any valuables on view as many crimes are committed by opportunistic criminals who just go round an area trying door handles in case, they get lucky.
If you can afford it, consider buying an alarm, CCTV camera such as a Ring Doorbell, or even a full system.
We also encourage residents to call 101 or report to us online if they see any suspicious behaviour or have any crimes to report. If there are crimes ongoing, please call 999 so we can look to apprehend offenders.
Your local officers have been carrying out HumberTalking in the areas seeking boosting local confidence and feedback from residents.
Local officers will continue to gather and develop intelligence to identify who may be responsible.
We will work with the Rural Crime Team and Special Constabulary to carry out joint patrols in rural areas alongside your local officers who, when able, will change shifts to be able to accommodate this.
Issue
Nuisance Motorbikes
Action
We understand the impact and distress that nuisance motorbikes can cause for the community and we are committed to tackling this issue.
The local team are actively dealing with this issue through working closely with dedicated officers for Operation Yellowfin. We also have other resources available to us which are invaluable, such as working alongside colleagues from Humberside Fire and Rescue to utilise their drone and operators, giving us a much better chance of delivering positive results.
Humbertalking is often completed in the areas that are most affected by these issues and information and intelligence provided by local residents is key. Information can be passed through the following channels 101 or CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111 (this can be done anonymously), this in turn will allow us to tackle those individuals affecting your area.
