Current Priorities
Issue
Theft - shoplifting.
Action
We are continuing to engage with store staff to better understand why the premises may be particularly targeted by shoplifters. Discussions with senior management are also being explored to identify and implement effective deterrent measures. In the meantime, the store will remain a focus during routine patrols. Officers will liaise closely with staff following any reports of theft to quickly identify suspects, make arrests, and prevent further offending.
Issue
Drug supply.
Action
We are planning to increase high-visibility patrols in the area, with a particular focus on alleyways and back roads that connect through the neighbourhood. Officers will engage with individuals known to be involved in, encourage, or tolerate antisocial behaviour near their properties, with the aim of deterring open drug-related activity. During these engagements, we will also seek to identify any underlying vulnerabilities that may be contributing to their behaviour. Where appropriate, we will work with partner agencies to provide support and interventions, aiming to reduce long-term offending.
Issue
Antisocial behaviour.
Action
Increased visible patrols have been introduced in the area to provide a stronger police presence and deter antisocial behaviour (ASB). In addition, a dedicated ASB response vehicle has been deployed to attend calls specifically related to ASB incidents. This targeted approach ensures quicker response times, enhances community reassurance, and supports more effective management of ASB.
