Current Priorities
Issue
Antisocial behaviour.
Action
Marked high-visibility patrols are being carried out in the ward by local beat officers, supported by the Neighbourhood Task Force’s Problem-Solving Police Community Support Officer. Appropriate Proactive Management Plans will be created to document the activity, including the powers, policies, and legislation used to support it.
Beat officers will maintain close contact with the local community to gather information and intelligence, and to highlight positive outcomes through the My Community Voice platform.
Issue
Theft shoplifting.
Action
Beat officers and Problem-Solving Police Community Support Officers will use the shoplifting toolkit to deal with suspects, support local retailers, and reassure the public that robust action is being taken to address this offence. This approach will be delivered in partnership with relevant agencies and stakeholders. Working in partnership with One Maidstone.
Issue
Alcohol.
Action
Beat officers will work with the problem-solving Police Community Support Officer to address this issue, which is likely linked to antisocial behaviour. They will carry out licensing checks at local shops and newsagents, supported by the Licensing Officer, to ensure compliance.
