Current Priorities
Issue
Antisocial behaviour - general.
Action
Marked high-visibility patrols are being carried out in the ward by local beat officers, supported by the Neighbourhood Task Force’s Problem-Solving Police Community Support Officer. Appropriate Proactive Management Plans will be created to document the activity, including the powers, policies, and legislation used to support it.
Beat officers will maintain close contact with the local community to gather information and intelligence, and to highlight positive outcomes through the My Community Voice platform.
Issue
Criminal damage.
Action
Recent reports have highlighted incidents involving young people using catapults to target wildlife, moving vehicles, and buildings. In response, local officers will be working closely with the Child-Centred Policing Team and the Antisocial Behaviour Team to identify those responsible and take appropriate action. This will include delivering educational sessions in schools and considering the introduction of a Proactive Management Plan. Positive outcomes from this work will be shared through My Community Voice (MCV).
Issue
Noise disturbance.
Action
Noise disturbance complaints are primarily handled by the local authority. Therefore, beat officers will direct residents to the Maidstone Borough Council’s reporting system. However, officers can support these investigations by providing relevant information or intelligence where appropriate.
