While this issue clearly affects local residents, it primarily falls under the responsibility of the local Council rather than the police. However, it may be considered a form of general antisocial behaviour. When beat officers witness such incidents, they will engage in educational conversations with those involved and/or refer the matter to the local Council for further action.

Highway obstructions.

Officers respond to reports of pavement or highway obstructions and assess the situation. If there is no ongoing obstruction, they may consider whether other offences have been committed. These obstructions are often caused by local residents or businesses.

Road safety issues.

Beat officers carry out speed checks and take proactive enforcement action against any offences identified while on patrol.
