Current Priorities
Issue
Antisocial behaviour - General.
Action
The local beat officer is actively engaged in intelligence and evidence gathering, alongside data analysis, to identify individuals involved in antisocial behaviour (ASB) for targeted interventions. This work is being carried out in close partnership with the specialist Kent Police ASB Officer, Local Authority Community Safety Partnership (CSP) ASB Officers, and housing teams. Together, these partners are working collaboratively to problem-solve persistent ASB issues, ensuring a coordinated and effective response that addresses both enforcement and support needs within the community.
Issue
Road safety issues.
Action
The local beat officer is actively involved in intelligence and evidence gathering, as well as data analysis, to identify individuals responsible for road safety offences and enable targeted interventions. All relevant information is assessed and shared with key stakeholders, including the Local Authority’s parking enforcement team, to support appropriate follow-up and enforcement action.
In addition, the beat officer is supporting local Speedwatch initiatives to address speeding concerns within the community. A district-wide e-scooter operation is also being planned. This initiative will focus on raising awareness at the point of sale, delivering targeted e-messaging campaigns, and combining education with enforcement to promote the safe and legal use of e-scooters across the district.
Issue
Dog fouling.
Action
All relevant information regarding dog fouling is being assessed and analysed, with findings passed to key stakeholders including the Local Authority’s Dog Wardens and Environmental Health Department. These teams will review the reports and take appropriate action where necessary to address the issue and maintain public cleanliness and safety.
