Current Priorities

Issue

Road safety issues.

Action

Enforcement around road safety issues includes a strong focus on addressing the illegal use of e-scooters, particularly private scooters being used on public roads, which is not permitted under current legislation. Vehicle seizure operations are also being carried out to remove uninsured or unlicensed vehicles from circulation. Intelligence-led patrols are targeting known nuisance riders to disrupt dangerous behaviour and improve safety. In addition, youth education initiatives are being delivered in partnership with schools and parents to inform young riders about the legal and safety responsibilities associated with road use. These efforts are supported by public awareness campaigns, shared through social media and local channels, to promote the safe and lawful use of vehicles and improve overall road safety in the community.

Issue

Antisocial behaviour - General.

Action

Regular patrols are being carried out across the general area, with particular attention given to locations where antisocial behaviour (ASB) is most frequently reported—such as the top of Mill Hill and Elizabeth Carter Way, where nuisance motorbike activity has been highlighted. Officers are also engaging with the community at local events to raise awareness about ASB, explain its impact, and inform residents about how and what to report. These efforts aim to strengthen community-police collaboration and ensure that the police receive the necessary information to take effective action.

Issue

Noise disturbance.

Action

All relevant information regarding noise disturbances is being carefully assessed and analysed, with findings shared with key stakeholders. This includes the Local Authority’s Environmental Health Department and the Licensing Committee, who will review the information and take appropriate action where necessary. This collaborative approach ensures that noise-related issues are addressed effectively and in line with regulatory responsibilities.
