Current Priorities
Issue
Fly tipping.
Action
Efforts to tackle fly-tipping continue through regular patrols of known hotspot areas. Residents are encouraged to report incidents using local council apps or hotlines. We are working with the council to install CCTV and warning signage in affected locations. Partnerships with environmental officers and waste management teams are helping to strengthen our response. Officers also attend community meetings to raise awareness about legal disposal methods and the penalties for fly-tipping.
Issue
Road safety issues.
Action
Regular speed enforcement operations are being carried out in known problem areas. We are also engaging with local schools to deliver road safety workshops and raise awareness among young people. In partnership with local authorities, traffic surveys are being conducted to assess accident-prone areas and inform future safety measures. Additionally, we continue to support and train Community Speed Watch volunteers to help monitor and address speeding in neighbourhoods.
Issue
Antisocial behaviour - General.
Action
High-visibility patrols are being increased in antisocial behaviour (ASB) hotspots during peak times. Officers are engaging with young people to raise awareness about the impact of ASB on individuals and local businesses, while also identifying those responsible. Where appropriate, tools such as Acceptable Behaviour Agreements (ABAs) and Community Protection Notices (CPNs) are being used. Multi-agency meetings are held regularly with housing providers, social services, and local councils to coordinate responses. Victim support remains a priority, with timely follow-up and assistance provided to those affected by ASB.
