Current Priorities
Issue
Antisocial behaviour - General.
Action
High-visibility patrols are being increased in known antisocial behaviour (ASB) hotspots, particularly during peak times, to provide a visible deterrent and reassurance to the community. Officers are actively engaging with local youths to raise awareness about the impact of ASB on individuals and businesses, while also identifying those involved in persistent issues. Where necessary, enforcement tools such as Community Protection Notices (CPNs) and Acceptable Behaviour Agreements (ABAs) will be used. These efforts are supported through regular multi-agency meetings with housing providers, social services, and local councils to ensure a coordinated response. Additionally, timely follow-up and support are being provided to victims of ASB to ensure their concerns are addressed and their wellbeing prioritised.
Issue
E-scooters and/or nuisance motorcycles.
Action
Enforcement efforts are ongoing to address the illegal use of e-scooters and nuisance motorcycles. This includes enforcing laws that prohibit the use of private e-scooters on public roads, with action taken where offences are identified. Vehicle seizure operations are also being carried out to remove uninsured or unlicensed vehicles from the roads. Intelligence-led patrols are targeting known nuisance riders to disrupt their activity and deter further offences. In parallel, youth education initiatives are being delivered in collaboration with schools and parents to raise awareness among young riders about the legal and safety implications of their actions. Public awareness campaigns are also being promoted through social media and local channels to encourage the safe and lawful use of e-scooters and motorcycles within the community.
Issue
Fraud.
Action
Efforts to tackle fraud within the community include the regular distribution of scam alerts through local newsletters and social media to raise awareness and help prevent victimisation. Victims of fraud are supported with appropriate referrals to Action Fraud and other victim support services to ensure they receive the help they need. The importance of reporting fraud and sharing intelligence is actively promoted to strengthen community resilience and help in identifying emerging trends and offenders.
