Current Priorities
Issue
Antisocial behaviour.
Action
Beat officers are conducting regular patrols and, where appropriate, using antisocial behaviour (ASB) legislation to address issues. They are also working closely with local schools to identify young people involved in ASB, with follow-up interventions carried out by the Child Centred Policing Team or the local beat officer.
Issue
Drugs.
Action
Both plain clothes and uniformed officers have been deployed, using powers under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act (MDA) and other relevant legislation. This includes the execution of MDA warrants and use of Section 18 powers where applicable. Officers are working in partnership with housing providers to target specific addresses known for drug dealing. Intelligence is being developed to accurately identify and target repeat offenders, with priority individuals being raised as nominal targets. In addition, drug operations have been carried out on multiple occasions at licensed premises to address drug use in those settings.
Issue
Road safety.
Action
Beat officers are carrying out regular patrols and are using both antisocial behaviour and Road Traffic Act legislation where appropriate to address road safety concerns.
