Current Priorities
Issue
We have seen a slight increase in ASB on the beat over the past couple of months due to the nicer weather.
ASB incidents such as:
Vehicle nuisance or inappropriate use.
Rowdy or inconsiderate behaviour.
Littering or drugs paraphernalia.
Action
Over recent weeks, significant work has been carried out on the beat to tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB) through targeted patrols and community engagement. Officers have increased their visibility in known ASB hotspots, conducting regular foot patrols during peak hours to deter nuisance behaviour and reassure residents. These patrols have focused on areas identified through community feedback and incident reports, including parks and abandoned buildings. In addition to enforcement, officers have engaged with local businesses and youth groups to build rapport and encourage positive behaviour. Joint operations with partner agencies have also been conducted, addressing issues. The proactive presence has led to a noticeable reduction in reported incidents and strengthened public confidence in local policing efforts.
Issue
Concerns relating to Road Safety whether it be parking, speeding or loud cars/bikes a causing nuisance or being ridden in an anti-social manner.?
Action
In recent weeks, considerable work has been undertaken on the beat to improve road safety through proactive policing and community engagement. Officers have carried out high-visibility patrols in areas with a history of speeding, dangerous driving, and poor pedestrian safety, particularly around schools, residential zones, and busy junctions. Additionally, officers have responded to community concerns by targeting illegal parking and obstruction offences, helping to ensure safer access for pedestrians and emergency vehicles. These actions have contributed to a noticeable improvement in driver behaviour and increased public confidence in local road safety efforts.
Issue
Drug dealing on the beat is still a priority. We are always looking for opportunities to gather sufficient intelligence to enforce by way of drugs warrants. Any opportunity to disrupt drug dealing will be grasped by the team and the NPT (Neighbourhood priority team). We continue to welcome any information concerning local drug dealing activities in your area.?
Action
Over the past few weeks, focused efforts have been made on the beat to address drug dealing and drug taking through a combination of intelligence-led patrols, community engagement, and partnership working. Officers have conducted high-visibility patrols in areas identified through local intelligence and resident reports as hotspots for drug activity, including alleyways, parks, and near retail areas. Stop and search powers have been used proportionately and effectively, resulting in several positive outcomes including drug seizures and arrests. Engagement with local residents has been key, with officers encouraging the public to report suspicious behaviour and providing reassurance about ongoing enforcement efforts. Joint operations with specialist units and housing officers have also been carried out, targeting known offenders and properties linked to drug misuse. These actions have not only disrupted criminal activity but also contributed to a safer and more confident community environment.
