Current Priorities
Issue
ASB and youth engagement throughout the summer period on Sideley Park, Kegworth
Action
You asked us to focus on youth related ASB in and around Side ley park, Kegworth.
Throughout the Summer period we -
•Increase public awareness of visible policing activities, such as patrolling and enforcements, in hotspot areas.
•Highlight engagement efforts with local communities and partners.
•Share effective crime prevention advice and resources focused on ASB, street crime.
We have spent a lot of time patrolling the park and engaging with local residents.
We have identified individuals responsible for misusing the park and have been working with them and their families to curb their behaviour.
Issue
Road safety within the village of Griffydam and surrounding areas.
Action
You told us there is an issue with HGVs going through the village, vehicles speeding and parking concerns around school drop off and pick up times.
We plan on utilising tactical options to reduce the volume of HGVs in the village.
Our aim will be to educate and enforce where appropriate and will involve engagement with both the drivers and companies involved.
We have monitored the speed of vehicles using the roads through the village and taken enforcement action against those found to be speeding.
We will work with the School and parents to help alleviate road safety concerns around school parking.
Issue
Vehicle related ASB in the vicinity of Diseworth Road, Castle Donington
Action
You told us there are still ongoing issues with vehicles causing ASB in and around the area of Diseworth Road, Castle Donington.
To reduce the effect this is having on local residents we have increased our patrols in these areas and taken action against any drivers found to be causing ASB using a range of powers available to us.
We have put up warning signs at the location which act as the additional warning so that we can implement immediate seizure of any vehicles found at the location being driven in an anti social manner.
We have enlisted the support of our response, traffic and airport Police colleagues to maximise our impact at this location. Lots of vehicles have been stopped. Drugs searches and drug driving enforcement has been completed and we have been speaking with local residents to keep them informed.
While this remains a cause for concern, we want to continue our ASB and road traffic enforcement at the location for the benefit of the residents who are suffering as a result of visitors misusing the Road
