Anti-Social Behaviour around the Greenhill area

You said key locations including Greenhill Skate Park, Waterworks Road, and Cropston Drive in Coalville experience ASB from groups of youths and the use of off road motorbikes.

We conducted high visibility patrols in some of the key areas identified as having repots of ASB. These included Greenhill, Agar Nook and Hugglescote.

A number of local children were engaged with by the Beat Team and given information about what constitutes ASB and how to spend their time constructively.

This was a priority to cover a potential ASB increase over the school summer holidays. Although there were sporadic complaints received mostly no issues were reported which is a success for the community and a success for the Beat Team.

We carried out a number of visits to reports of inconsiderate or dangerous driving and parking. Examples include Moore Road, Ellistown where some local businesses were sadly using the pavement to park vehicles and trailers causing obstructions. Advice has been given and enforcement action will be taken in future.

Further to this we have dealt with a vehicle obstructing a driveway and vehicles parking on zig zags at pedestrian crossings.

One vehicle was issued with a s.59 Police Reform Act notice for being used in an anti-social manner.

Now schools have returned after the summer holidays are school parking patrols have also recommenced with Hugglescote visited.

Anti-social behaviour associated with off-road bikes in the Melrose Estate, Greenhill Estate, Bardon Hill, and Ellistown areas

You said off road motorbikes are causing anti-social behaviour with their noise and dangerous riding, flouting of road traffic regulations and disrespect for the environment.

During August we carried out several patrols totalling 13 different days along with our other business demands. We prioritised areas that historically had issues with ASB from off road motorbikes which included Thringstone, Whitwick, Agar Nook, Greenhill and Hugglescote.

A number of calls have been received regarding issues in Thringstone and Greenhill Skatepark. The Beat Team are gradually building an intelligence picture with information leading to the identification of riders and the seizure of motorbikes.
