Current Priorities

Issue

Road Safety:
Through our consultation, community members have identified Road Safety (speeding) as being a priority the people of Uppingham want us to address.

What we are going to do: We will provide a frequent high visibility policing presence, as part of a localised operation around Road Safety, to the affected areas with marked vehicle patrols and regular monitoring. We will deploy the speed gun device and deal with offenders robustly where appropriate. We will also continue to work with partner agencies, such as the Road Safety Partnership mobile speed camera van, to identify areas of concern and request deployment of that resource. We will then continue to publish the enforcement statistics on the Neighbourhood Link messaging service. www.neighbourhoodlink.co.uk

Action

During May 25 the beat team have provide a frequent high visibility policing presence to the affected areas with marked vehicle patrols using ANPR and regular monitoring has taken place using our speed gun device. Speeding and noise caused by motorbikes has been raised as a issue across Rutland and our Road Policing Team have assisted us in tackling this issue.

The results from the mobile speed camera van visits to all locations in Rutland can be viewed at www.speedorsafety.com

Issue

Anti-Social Behaviour:
Through our consultation with you we have identified that ASB continues to be a priority for the people of Uppingham.

What we are going to do this quarter: We will complete high visibility patrols of hotpot areas with partner agencies and deal proactively with offenders with a view to providing suitable advice or action where required.

Action

During May 25 the beat continued with regular patrols of areas of concern to residents. Only one incident had to be dealt with over the period. The beat team also spoke with some of the residents of Todds Piece about ASB at a recent beat Surgery. We will continue to show presence, working with partners where appropriate to manage ASB throughout the town.

We can not be in this area 24/7, if you see ASB taking place please report it.

If you wish to report any ASB in your area, please contact via 101 or report it online via www.leics.police.uk
