Current Priorities

Issue

We have had an increase in reports of Anti social behaviour in and around the area of what is locally known as The Black Path.
Residents have been reporting youths throwing items at houses, and knocking on doors.

Action

Daily Patrols are being conducted by the beat team,
Officers have identified an address where motor cycles linked to Anti social behaviour. The residents have been issued an Anti-social Behaviour Warning letter, which is hoped to prevent further issues.
A further address has been identified to be involved with off road Motor Bikes. The team will be following this up with the occupants, with a joint visit being planned with the Leicester City ASB team

Issue

YOU SAID.
We continue to receive concerns from retailers and Security at the Beaumont Leys Shopping centre that there still a significant increase in shoplifting and threats being made to store staff.

Action

WE DID.
A problem Management Plan has been created.
We will work along side the retail stores and security to tackle the offenders.
Crime prevention patrols are taking place by Uniformed staff and plain clothed patrols have also taken place.
A meeting was held with Centre Management to discuss current issues and to discuss options of extra staffing in the forthcoming months.
We are still awaiting the outcome of 2 Crime behaviour orders which would prevent them from returning to the shopping centre, both are due to attend court in early June.

Issue

We have seen an increase in Theft from Motor Vehicles, especially at Heathley Park.
Light commercial vehicles are being targeted for tools being left inside overnight

Action

Our beat team have been patrolling the area, with both High Visibility and plain clothed officers,
Practical advice has been published on the West Leics Facebook Page and the team have also been visiting addresses and giving crime prevention advice.
Since the first of April we are pleased to say there have been no reports of vehicle crime in the area
