The stores in and around Old Swan and Edge Lane retail park, have been highlighted as hot spot locations for retail crime. These offences range from theft, harassment of staff, to violent robberies.

Additional hot spot policing patrols have been directed to the area during peak times, in an effort to identify and take action against persistent offenders.

Officers have also utilised specific ASB legislation, such as community protection notices and criminal behaviour orders. These have been utilised as an attempt at a preventative measure.
