Action
A hot spot location has been identified within this neighbourhood, where victims have been targeted on the loop line and surrounding open spaces for their e-bikes. Additional officers have been deployed to the area in an effort to apprehend and deter any offenders. The neighbourhood team have been setting up crime prevention and bike marking events within the area, in an effort to make the bikes less desirable to any offenders.
There have been several arrests, over the last three months linked to this kind of offending. Multiple bikes have been recovered and reunited with their owners. Further proactive work has been completed targeting users of illegal Ebikes or illegally adapted bikes.
