Current Priorities
Issue
Road related offences (speeding and dangerous/illegal parking).
Anti- social behaviour in Bedford Park including young people smoking cannabis and causing damage. This is occurring of an evening, primarily on weekends.
Action
We have increased our visibility in Bedford Park by increasing the number of patrols at various times of the day and night.
We have recently completed a speed operation to gather more data and are working with our roads policing unit to reduce speeding. We have also ticketed or advised numerous drivers to park more safely.
Issue
Anti-social behaviour - throughout the summer we have previously seen a significant rise in anti-social behaviour. Officers will be patrolling hot spot locations and surrounding areas including Portland Street Park, Southport, Sandbrook Road in Ainsdale, Crossens Community Centre and Botanic Gardens in Southport. Whilst all areas will be covered, these locations tend to suffer more frequently and will be our focus.
Issue
Serious violence – We aim to reduce incidents of serious violence whether that be related to the coastal areas, parks and open spaces or the night-time economy in Southport. so that residents and visitors to feel safer.
