Current Priorities

Issue

Violence Against Women and Girls - VAWG - Marlborough Safer Neighbourhood Team is committed in the reduction of violent crime including those crimes committed against women and girls. This will be achieved through joint working with partner agencies and proactive policing, alongside community engagement events and speaking to those directly living and working in Harrow.

Action

Daily patrols of the ward whilst engaging with members of the community on their individual perception of their safety. Also gaining an understanding of the issues they have identified within the ward. Along with increased patrols on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Walk and Talk events held from the local tube stations during peak travel times, offering advice and the chance for community to express concerns.

Issue

Anti-Social Behaviour and Drug Offences

Action

The team are proactively patrolling hotspot areas, providing a high visibility deterrent against offenders. Officers continue to conduct both plain clothes and high visibility patrols across the ward to target drug dealing. A recent operation run within the Marlborough ward resulted in numerous stop and searches resulting in a positive detection for drugs leading to further arrests and drug supply investigations. Officers continue to build a broader intelligence picture of key individuals concerned in drug supply across the ward with a target to target these individuals through a combination of stops and warrants under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Issue

Reduce reports of robbery across the ward, specifically phone theft by suspects on e-bikes.

Action

Ongoing plain clothes and high visibility patrols in the known hotspot areas. Working closely with specialist trained units to conduct operations focused around e-bike phone thefts and robberies.
Crime prevention and advice provided at community engagement events across the ward.
