Current Priorities

Issue

The Milton Road Community Group has recently raised concerns about drug use and supply within the Willow Walk and Milton Road area of the ward. Residents have raised concerns about drug users congregating, collecting and using drugs which is impacting on the quality of life in the area.

Action

This priority was kept in place by the ward panel held on the 6th September. High visibility patrols in the area will continue at peak crime times making use of stop and search tactics and community protection warnings and notices.

Issue

Local crime statistics and concerns raised at the recent ward panel meeting indicate a significant problem with robbery and theft offences occurring in the Turnpike Lane Station area of the ward. Concerns raised about phone snatching from offenders on Lime bikes.

Action

Ward officers to arrange a day of action targeting offending and will reach out to proactive units for assistance in dealing with the problem. Officers will consider getting a bid for funding to tackle problem.

Issue

Priority retained at ward panel on 6th September. There is ongoing ASB on Lordship recreation ground

Action

The team are undertaking regular patrols targeting this area of the park. Engagement days will be planned and completed within the park to raise awareness of the issue, encourage reporting and deter the behaviour. Officers are targeting identified offenders with anti-social behaviour warnings and community protection warnings. If the behaviour persists these can be escalated to community protection notices. A breach of these notices is a crime punishable by a fine.
